  • House approves minimum wage increase

WASHINGTON – Republicans muscled the first minimum wage increase in a decade through the House early Saturday after pairing it with a cut in inheritance taxes on multimillion-dollar estates.

“Just think of what it is to have a bill that says to minimum wage workers, ‘We’ll raise your minimum wage but only if we can give an estate tax cut to the 7,500 wealthiest families in America,’” said Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif.

min. wage was increased to 7.25 over the next 3 years. But dont worrie they gave themselves a hefty raise to.

The bill passed Saturday would exempt $5 million of an individual’s estate, and $10 million of a couple’s, from estate taxes by 2015. Estates worth up to $25 million would be taxed at capital gains rates, currently 15 percent and scheduled to rise to 20 percent. Tax rates on the remainder of larger estates would fall to 30 percent by 2015.

The Republicans had to tie another bill onto it or The min. wage part of the bill would’nt have passed.

I’ll remember this when time come’s to vote! I think ill go Democratic unless something big changes.

    THE SERMON ON THE MOUNT
    Matthew 5:3-11

    The Beatitudes

“Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall he comforted. Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for My sake”

  • THE SIMPLE LITTLE CHURCH

Some say it’s just “a simple little Church”
it’s kinda broken down and weather worn,
but, to others it’s a step to heaven…
the place they were saved, and were re-born.

This “simple little church” in town…
or, maybe it’s out in the country far away,
is a place where many learned of God…
it is where they learned to pray.

Oh, the sound so sweet from it’s little choir
could just make the rafters shake,
and when the pastor gave God’s Word…
you can be assured, we were all awake!

It wasn’t like he yelled AT us
he just wanted to be heard,
    no rudeness was intended…
he was just excited ’bout God’s Word.

The little children all sat up front
except for the babies some women had,
for they were all just way too small…
so, they sat with Mom and Dad.

When the time came up for the kids to sing
they would step forward and smile so sweet,
    and when they started singing…
they even did hand motions, oh so neat!

Whatever happened to that “simple little church”
the one older folks can reminisce about,
what happened to the Olde Tyme Hymns…
that could make us cry and shout?

Oh, the building is there…it’s all boarded up
a fancier one was built…so it was forgot,
but, what happened to the enthusiasm…
that used to pour out all the way to the parking lot?

Oh, how I miss that “simple little church”
the one so filled with love inside,
    where everyone knew everyone…
and they just never passed you by.

The pastor always shook your hand
in fact, he even gave hugs too,
    he never was too busy
to sit in prayer with you.

I’m not saying that the church today
is too big or that it’s bad,
I’m just saying that it is possible…
they just don’t have the spirit “The Simple Little Church” had!

I STILL GO TO  simple little Church like that .It’s my childhood Church. We still have a Pastor waiting at the door to shake hands with us as we enter. We still sing the old song of Zion and we still have a mourners bench where people come to pray thru and find there savior.I am so blessed!

  • You are not responsible for doing
    it all yourself, right now.
Remember a happy, peaceful time in your past.
Rest there. Each moment has richness
that takes a lifetime to savor.
    Set your own pace.
    When someone is pushing you,
it’s OK to tell them they’re pushing.

    Take nothing for granted:
watch water flow, the corn grow,
the leaves blow, your neighbor mow.
    Taste your food.
God gives it to delight as well as to nourish.
Notice the sun and the moon as they rise and set.
They are remarkable for their steady pattern
    of movement, not their speed.

Create a place in your home…
    at your work…in your heart…
where you can go for quiet and recollection.
    You deserve it.
Allow yourself time to be lazy and unproductive.
    Rest isn’t luxury; it’s a necessity.
    Listen to the wind blow.
It carries a message of yesterday, tomorrow
     and now. NOW counts.

    Count your friends.
If you have one, you are lucky.
If you have more, you are blessed.
    Bless them in return.
Count your blessings – one at a time and slowly.

  • Hello everyone
We had a great Revival it broke Sunday night. We had 8 to get saved and 2 to renew themselves and get back into this heavenly race. I heard one boys testimony and he said he couldn’t get to sleep for seeing the fires of hell. So he told his parents they all got up and prayed and called the Pastor at 11 o’clock at night and he came over Colby prayed through and now he’s saved and safe from harm.He told everyone he was a new man lol. I rejoice with his family. Another boy 16 years old got saved at home and he is so different he was so shy from the services now he helps lead the singing praise God!
We are so happy and cant thank God enough for the blessings he gave us.Theres nothing like seeing a person get saved and hearing them testify about it.Next we have Homecoming in October I cant wait it’s a very special time to all the members come out to worship togeather and it’s a grand time.I guess you’ll can tell I’m ole timy and still believe the ole time way I’m happy and glad to say I’m ready to meet God and looking forward to going to Heaven when God calls me or the Rapture comes. Please don’t forget the day is coming when we all will stand face to face with God and I hope it’s to hear him say well done enter in for ever more. There are many to meet already in Heaven , like my Mama and Daddy and I cant wait to see them again in Heaven. But most of all I want to see Jesus and thank him for saving me and for keeping me in this life.I want to see first hand what Heaven looks like and when the new city Jerusalem comes down ill be ready and waiting for it. I know it seems like it’s been a long time but Jesus is coming back for us i hope were all ready to meet him!

    REVIVAL AND SPIRITUAL AWAKENING

By Jeff Ziegler and Jay Rogers

IN A PREVIOUS ISSUE OF The Forerunner (Nov./Dec. 1991),
revival was defined as a recovery of the Lord’s testimony
in a particular generation of the Church. This definition
would obviously imply a tarnishing or loss of testimony
among the saints, which would need to be regained if
the Church were to have an impact upon society.

Such reviving takes place with the application of immutable
biblical principles within the context of organized
prayer on a congregational level. Thus the fostering
of such awakenings, along with all of their accompanying
holy grandeur, are not dependent upon certain cultural
conditions being favorable toward revival, or by periodic
    evangelistic campaigns.

Also noted previously, was the symbiotic relationship
of revival in the Church and the corresponding effect
the revived Church has upon society, termed “spiritual
    awakening.” Spiritual awakening generally sees
large numbers of converts being added to the Church
in a very short period of time, and as a result of
such harvest, a reformation of culture takes place
    to some degree.

    This is God
    (Phil Vassar)

    This is God
Could I please have your attention
    There’s a need for intervention
Man, I’m disappointed in what I’m seeing

    Hey, This is God
You fight each other in my name
Treat life like it’s a foolish game
Well, I say, you’ve got the wrong idea

Oh, all I’m asking for is love
Well, I’ve seen you hurt yourselves enough
Oh, I’ve been waiting on a change in you

    Ya, this is God
    I’ve given everything to you
Oh but look at what you do
To the world that I created

    This is God
What’s with this attitude and hate
You grow more ignorant with age
    You had it made
Now look at all you’ve wasted

Oh, all I’m asking for is love
Well, I’ve seen you hurt yourselves enough
Oh, I’ve been waiting for a change in you

    I know your every thought
Your heart and soul, and every move
    There are so many consequences
     To the things you do

All I’m asking for is love
    Haven’t you hurt yourselves enough
Oh, I’ve been waiting for a change in you
    A change in you
    This is God

  • With everything going on in Israel all the time there future stays on my mind.

Do you believe this scripture is pre. or post Rapture?

    I
belive;  Post Rapture …….The time between the Rapture and the
Tribulation. The Tribulation is a specific period of time during which
many crazy things will happen. The beginning of the actual Tribulation
should be marked by the Anti-Christ and his kingdom making a deal with
Israel…a 7 year covenant. This is probably in the form of an alliance
and/or a peace treaty that leaves the jewish people in control of
Jerusalem under the protection of the kingdom of the anti-Christ. Or
    something like that.

Israel has been at war forever but one day she wont be see scripture below.
O mountains of Israel, you will put
forth your branches and bear your fruit for My people Israel; for they
will soon come. For, behold, I am for you, and I will turn to you, and
you will be cultivated and sown. I will multiply men on you, all the
house of Israel, all of it; and the cities will be inhabited and the
waste places will be rebuilt. Thus says the Lord God, “On the day that
I cleanse you from all your iniquities, I will cause the cities to be
inhabited, and the waste places will be rebuilt. The desolate land will
be cultivated instead of being a desolation in the sight of everyone
who passes by. They will say, This desolate land has become like the
garden of Eden; and the waste, desolate and ruined cities are fortified
and inhabited. Then the nations that are left round about you will know
that I, the Lord, have rebuilt the ruined places and planted that which
was desolate; I, the Lord, have spoken and will do it.” Ezekiel
    36:8-10, & 33-36

In these powerfully prophetic passages we
see the Holy Spirit instructs the prophet Ezekiel to use personal
pronouns;”I will turn to you O mountains of Israel, My people Israel, I
will multiply, I will cleanse you, I will cause, I the Lord have spoken
    and I will do it!”

Notice who is causing these things to come to
pass. It is not Christians causing these things to happen, it is not
the church, it is not even the Jewish people, it is the Lord God of
Israel Himself saying, “I the Lord have spoken and I will do it!.

    By
the sovereign will of God, He chose to remember His everlasting
covenant with Abraham and His descendents, the Jewish people, by
bringing them back into their promised inheritance – His holy land,
    Israel.
