  • And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left. Isaiah 30:21

IF we have come to the forks of the road–to some crisis in our experience–and know not whether to turn to the right or to the left, we should stop at once and listen to the voice. Or, in other words, we should turn at once to the Word of the Lord, and by pondering its precepts and principles, and its illustrations bearing on the perplexing subject, seek to learn the will of the Lord, asking also the leading of His Spirit, and endeavoring to bring the mind into a loving, submissive and trustful attitude. Oh Jesus, Please Don’t Let Me

Oh Jesus, please don’t let me
    Worry about those I love.
    Help me remember Your protection
    You send from up above.

Oh Jesus, please don’t let me
    Falter on my way,
Enough for me to fall down
As I know I sometimes may.

Oh Jesus, please don’t let me
    Say something I’ll regret
To hurt someone else in such a way
    That I will never forget.

Oh Jesus, please don’t let me
Take for granted all I’ve been given,
Like my family and all my friends
Like the simple joy of living.

Oh Jesus please don’t let me
    Ever forget Your peace
You give to those who trust in You,
    Oh never let it cease!

Oh Jesus, please don’t let me
    Forget the grace You gave
    To me a wayward sinner
That You would care to save.

Oh Jesus, please don’t let me
Stop showing how much I care
To those I love the very most,
As I lift them up in prayer.

Fin’ly Jesus, please don’t let me
    Let my light burn cold,
So that when I go and live with You
I can wear a Crown of Gold!

    Traveling Salesman

A salesman was traveling through the country side, flogging insect
Repellent. He came to a farmhouse and tried his pitch on   the farmer. “Sir,
My bug spray is so good you will never be  bitten again. I guarantee it.”

The farmer was dubious. “Young man, I’ll make you a
Proposition. I’ll tie you out in my cornfield buck naked,
Covered with that bug spray. If there is not a single bite on
You come morning, I’ll buy a whole case from you.

The salesman was delighted. They went to the field and he
Stripped. The farmer sprayed him thoroughly with the bug spray  and tied
Him to a stake. Back to the house went the farmer.

The next morning, the farmer and his family trooped out to the  cornfield.
Sure enough, the salesman was there, hanging in his  bonds, not a single
Bite on him. Yet he was a total wreck!   Pale, ghastly, haggard, and drawn,
But not one bite on him.

The farmer was perplexed. “Son,” he said, “Now, you don’t have  a bite on
You but you look like hell! What the devil happened?”

The salesman looked up through bloodshot eyes and croaked,  ”Doesn’t that
    Calf have a mother?”
